Memories are windows into the past and through the window we can reflect what lies ahead.
What we have now is a part of the memories that we had. Like our school, formerly it was Ibayo Primary School, named after its location which was Ibayo. It was established in 1920, where classes are held in a makeshift classroom or under a mango tree, under the supervision of Ponciano Luis, the first principal of the school.
When the name of the barrio was changed to Sto. Nino, it became Sto. Nino Elementary School, in honor of the Patron Sto. Nino.
In 1980, the L-shaped building of the school was razed by fire, resulted to hold classes in the two chapels of the barangay. The two-storey Bagong Lipunan Building was built after a couple of years and another building was constructed funded by Filipino- Chinese Chamber of Commerce Inc. ,in the later years.
The increase in enrolment of the SNES paved way for the creation of its annex located at Sta. Agueda Compound being rented by the local government. This annex was named as Col. E de Leon Elem. School ( in honor of the former mayor) and later it became independent and now located at Multinational Village.
In 1988 another trial happened in Sto. Nino Elementary School where the Administration building including the Guidance office were razed by fire, all the Pupils’ permanent record were burned.
Presently, Sto. Nino Elementary School is composed of seven buildings with a total of 48 functional classrooms which enable the school to hold single classes from Grade 1 to Grade 6.
SNES keep on shining in different aspects whether academic or non-academic because of its 63 competent faculty members, moulding about 2,000 pupils to become a globally competitive and responsible Filipino citizens of the future. The school at present is equipped with complete facilities and updated learning resources which really influence the success of the learners, that’s why Dr. Teresita S. Rodriguez, school head, pursues to improve quality education and promote life-long learning’s for all.
